Google Play Games

What Google Play Games does

Google Play Games is a central place for finding and playing Android games, with tools for keeping track of progress and achievements. It suits players who want their game activity tied to a Google account rather than handled separately inside each title. The app is developed by Google LLC and listed in the Entertainment category.

Ways to play

The app includes an Instant play section for supported games that can be tried without a full installation. It also provides access to built-in games such as Solitaire, Minesweeper, Snake, PAC-MAN, Cricket and Whirlybird. These are useful when you want something simple to play, including when you are offline.

Progress and player profile

When a supported game reports that progress has been saved by Play Games, your position is stored in the cloud. This helps you continue from another device using the same account. A gamer profile adds a custom gamer ID, achievements and XP, giving you a record of activity across compatible games.

Recording and overall reach

Gameplay recording lets you capture and share selected moments from supported games. The app has a rating of about 3.99 out of 5 from more than 13.2 million reviews, with 5,000,000,000+ installs. Those figures reflect its broad use, while the feature set is most relevant to players who want discovery, cloud-backed progress and one place to review gaming achievements.
