Google Maps Go

Maps and directions for lighter Android phones

Google Maps Go is a streamlined version of Google Maps for finding places, planning routes, and checking local travel information. It suits phones with limited memory, slower connections, or users who want core map features without the full app taking as much space. The app is developed by Google LLC and has more than 1 billion installs, with a 4.1 rating from over 348,000 reviews.

Routes, traffic, and public transport

Search for an address or choose a route by car, walking, bicycle, taxi, ferry, or two-wheeler where supported. Google Maps Go can show route options, traffic conditions, and directions to help you compare ways to reach a destination. In supported cities, it also provides bus, train, and metro information, including schedules and local transit details.

Find useful places nearby

The app covers more than directions. Use it to look up restaurants, shops, services, and other local places, then check practical details such as phone numbers, addresses, reviews, and photos. You can save places you visit often or want to return to, making them easier to find later.

Broad coverage with a browser requirement

Google Maps Go provides map coverage across 200 countries and territories, with support for more than 70 languages. Public transport information is available in over 20,000 cities, while business listings cover more than 100 million places. As a Progressive Web App, it requires Google Chrome on Android. If Chrome is not available, Google Maps can be opened through a web browser instead.
